Seven of Cups

The Seven of Cups places us inside a dream we didn't quite choose to enter. Seven chalices hover in cloud and shadow, each one glowing with something we've wanted — or thought we wanted. There is a particular kind of fog that descends when too many paths appear at once, and today we may find ourselves standing in it, reaching toward forms that shift as we approach. Water is the element of emotion, intuition, and the stories we tell ourselves in the quiet hours. Today, that water is not still — it is dreaming. We may catch ourselves embellishing a situation, romanticizing a choice, or mistaking the beauty of an idea for a sign that it is right for us. The cups hold treasure and illusion in equal measure, and only when we slow down enough to feel — not just imagine — do we begin to tell them apart.

There is no shame in having visions. The shame would be in never examining them. Today carries a gentle call to sit with what we are drawn toward and ask: does this come from a place of genuine knowing, or from the part of us that wants to escape the ordinary?
