Death

The Death card has arrived in our collective space today, and it comes not cloaked in dread but wrapped in the strange mercy of inevitability. Something in our lives — a story we have been telling ourselves, a version of who we were, a relationship, a habit, a grief held too long — has reached its natural conclusion. The riverbed does not mourn the water that moves on. Today invites us to hold that same wisdom in our own hands.

There is a reason this card belongs to Spirit, to the element that moves through all things and answers to none of them. Transformation at this level is not something we engineer or schedule. It arrives when the conditions are ripe, when the old form has given everything it had to give. The energy around us today asks whether we are willing to be the riverbed — steady, open, trusting the current — or whether we tighten our grip on what the tide is already pulling away.

In the imagery of the tarot, Death rides a white horse, a symbol not of death but of purity — of what remains after everything unnecessary has fallen away. What is the white horse in our own story?
