The World
The World is the card of completion — the thing is finished, and you are different for having finished it.

Upright meaning
You arrived. Not partway, not almost — the degree is conferred, the project ships, the long thing ends. The World marks integration as much as achievement: whoever finishes is not who started, and you are asked to notice that before starting the next thing.
A figure dances inside a laurel wreath, a wand in each hand, one leg crossed behind the other. At the four corners sit a man, an eagle, a bull, and a lion — the fixed signs, the four elements, the whole of experience held at once. The wreath is bound top and bottom. Nothing here is still, and nothing is missing.
Origins & Symbolism
The World completes the Major Arcana, its dancing figure ringed by a laurel wreath of victory. At the four corners sit a man, eagle, bull, and lion — the fixed signs of the zodiac and the four evangelists, the same quartet that frames the Wheel of Fortune. The 1909 Rider-Waite-Smith card binds the wreath top and bottom: wholeness achieved, every element integrated at once.
